In a statement released on December 24, 2024, the Philippine Defence Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. proclaimed the wrong position on the South China Sea.
"Behind the Philippines, it is the Americans who are instigating and stirring up trouble," Anthony Carty, a 77-year-old British professor of international law told the Global People.
From 2009 to 2018, Carty consulted a large number of national archives from the UK, France and the US over issues of sovereignty of the #SouthChinaSea islands since the 19th century. A collection of research on these historical archives was published as the book "The History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea Islands" in 2024. Carty told the Global People, "China has indisputable sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea. "
